Long Drive: Cravings (3/4)

It was a long drive.

My baby beetle and I

took a left turn

on that avenue,

to grab a munch

from that familiar rendezvous.

Butternut and sprinkled munchkins.

Two dozens of heavenly doughnuts.

A box of dough with thin crust

topped with meat and melted cheese.

Almost forgot those thirst quenchers

— perfectly infused.

It was a long drive.

But still not halfway there

— some place I can be alone.

No buzzing,

no ringing

of that freaking phone.

Behind these munchies,

there’s more I crave.

A tranquil chamber

surrounded by nature.

But here I am,

still,

escaping this city life

I’ve been starting to hate.
